Update from Stanley J. Berke, M.D., F.A.C.S.
and the Staff at Berke Eye Care
Dear Berke Eye Care Patients,
Berke Eye Care continues to protect and care for the well being and health of our patients. Our top priority is our patients health and safety. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Berke Eye Care has activated its pandemic plan in accordance with our standard business practices. The intent of this plan is to provide for the ongoing health and safety of our employees and patients, while ensuring seamless service operations for our patients throughout this outbreak; as well as compliance with governmental regulations and public health guidance.
Our pandemic plan has calls for a phased approach consistent with guidelines recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, which include assessing any incidents and then containing and mitigating risk. The plan identifies specific actions that are triggered based upon the assessed severity. We have assembled a response team that is monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis and implementing actions in accordance with our plan.
Please note: The entry doors to our office building (1600 Stewart Ave) will be locked, but the Front Desk Person in the lobby will allow patients and Staff of Berke Eye Care into the building, since we are Health Care Providers.
If you cannot get the attention of the Front Desk Person in the lobby, please call the office at 516-794-2020, and someone from our staff will let you in the building.
All Berke Eye Care services are operational. As a precautionary measure, Berke Eye Care has implemented the following control measures designed to minimize the risk of impact to our services:
We ask those with access to our clinic to practice heightened levels of hygiene. To facilitate, we offer hand sanitizer and liquid-soap for hand washing.
We have made our clinic off limits to individuals who have a fever or other flu symptoms or have visited a Coronavirus hotspot in the past 14 days. Please call us to reschedule or cancel any appointments, if you meet this criteria.
Public guidance and requirements:
We adhere to the requirements and recommendations of government agencies requirements to control the spread of Coronavirus.
We will implement additional control measures as events unfold. Should an outbreak hotspot develop around our clinic, we have implemented a strict employee sick policy and will take additional precautions.
Thank you and be safe!
Dr. Stanley J. Berke, M.D., F.A.C.S.
